Lauren Perry

“I've wanted to be an architect since elementary school, when as a directionally confused kindergartener, I got lost on the way back to class. Today, I design K-12 schools for the next generation. Construction isn't easy, but the look on the students' faces when they walk into their new space - eyes aglow with excitement for learning - makes it all worth it!“

Lauren’s experience includes all aspects of project design, including concept design and design development, schematic design, budget management, construction document supervision, specifications, consultant coordination and construction administration. As part of our Community Studio, she has worked on educational, recreational as well as community projects.

As a LEED Accredited Professional with a Building Design and Construction specialty, Lauren brings a practical understanding of environmental concerns and the effects of the built environment on our future. Her project contributions translate into calculated, budget-minded design decisions that benefit the project Owner, User, Community and our Environment. Lauren’s passion for student-centered educational design and her hands-on approach to re-imagining the typical learning environment drives innovation within her projects.

When not in the office, Lauren's making a beeline for the water or biking around Norfolk with her husband and her dog.

She holds a certification as an advanced open water scuba diver, loves spending time on the beach and tackling DIY construction projects at her house.
