POLAR PLUNGE
One of our favorite things about living in Virginia Beach is access to the beach all summer. But nobody thought when they moved here they'd be jumping into the ocean in February too! Each year, we jump into the ocean in February (brr) to raise money for the Special Olympics. We've been doing this as a company for 10+ years, and it's always one of our favorite events!
CORPORATE 5K
Who doesn't love a little friendly competition? Every summer, our team laces up for the Corporate 5K. Despite the beach heat, our employees come out, whether they're running for a personal best, walking with friends, or simply enjoying the experience. The fun continues after the race as we join thousands of participants for one of the largest office happy hours in Hampton Roads, making it a memorable event year after year.
NEPTUNE FESTIVAL SANDSCULPTING
At the Oceanfront, the Neptune Festival hosts an "amateur" sand-sculpting contest. Each team designs & builds their own design over the course of about a 4-5 hour build time. You'd be surprised how many trips to the water it takes to build a well smoothed sand design! It's hard work, but always a fun day in the sun spent with your coworkers.
ANNUAL SUMMER PARTY
At HBA, we know that family matters. Every summer, we come together with our families to relax, connect, and enjoy time outside of the workplace. Our annual summer party is more than just an event—it's an opportunity to celebrate the people who support us every day and to strengthen the relationships that make HBA such a special place to work.
