Congratulations to Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) for receiving the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence

VBCPS was honored as the state’s only K-12 recipient of the Award. It was honored for its divisionwide sustainability achievements which date back to 2005. Since that time, VBCPS has built or replaced seven LEED certified schools. This includes award winning facilities Kellam High School and Virginia Beach Middle School. When John B. Dey Elementary School modernization is complete it will bring the division’s LEED Buildings to 10.
