Solving the puzzle: The Many Faces of Hunger

Solving the puzzle: The Many Faces of Hunger.

HBA once again participated in CANstruction®, an event that benefits the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore by collecting much needed canned goods for their pantry while showcasing the talents of the participating firms. Participating firms design a structure using those cans to raise awareness of the problems many face with regard to not having enough to eat.

Hunger is not a problem that only hits one demographic, it is a puzzle with ever-changing faces that we can work together to solve. Our structure of around 3,000 cans is based on the classic Rubik’s Cube that has almost been completed. Instead of colors, each side has an emoji face representing someone looking for help. Until all of the sides are solved there’s not a clear picture of who to help, reinforcing the notion that anyone can be at risk of not having enough to eat.

It’s a worthy cause and a lot of fun to participate in and our CANstruction® received the “Best Use of Labels” Award!
