David Smith, RA, AIA
David L. Smith, RA, AIA, earned his Virginia Architect License after passing the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) and completing the NCARB Intern Development Program. With 7 years of experience in the architectural profession, David possesses a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. As a Project Architect, David’s involvement is focused on complete integration of design, construction, and detail execution. David’s recent work, performed in collaboration with HBA’s Community Studio, includes visualization of concept designs, design development, schematic design, budget management, construction document supervision, specifications, consultant coordination and construction administration. His project experience includes recreational, educational, office, and community. Key projects he has worked on include: Kellam High School, Chesapeake Beach Fire & EMS Station, and the City of Chesapeake Public Library – South Norfolk Branch.
