Back to School

As summer comes to an end, another school year approaches. It is time for me to pack up and head back to Virginia Tech for my third year of Architecture school.

During this summer break, I stepped into the real world of architecture as I joined the HBA team as a college intern. Expecting to be running copies and cleaning the break rooms, I was shocked that I received valuable experience throughout the entire time I was here. As soon as I started, I was put on a project to renovate a building for Old Dominion University. The amount of responsibility that was put on me was intimidating at first, but then I became more and more comfortable with the work since everyone was so willing to lend a hand and answer any uncertainties I had. Every day was something new and exciting as I learned more and more information about the way the firm runs.

Now, I am going back to school with a completely new view of the trade which will definitely help in my future design thinking. I would like to extend a warm thanks to everyone at HBA for making my first intern position such a pleasant experience!
