Virginia Beach is a Cleaner Community!

The Virginia Beach Clean Community Commission is a City Council-appointed group formed in 1980 to undertake the task of promoting litter prevention, recycling, beautification and general environmental awareness through educational projects designed to reach all segments of our community. On Wednesday November 2, 2011 at the Westminster Canterbury Conference Center, one of HBA’s own Bobby Sharon was awarded two separate awards for work throughout the City. Bobby has coordinated the volunteer effort at HBA to clean the areas around our offices at Town Center collecting trash along Virginia Beach Boulevard and Independence Boulevard as well as an effort to clean-up around Virginia Beach Middle School down at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Gathering folks to wake up early on a Saturday morning to pick up trash is a thankless task to say the least, and Bobby has dutifully upheld this position. Not only is Bobby a leader for HBA, he also leads his car club, the Southeastern Virginia Mustang Club towards achieving the same goals. HBA is proud of Bobby and all his hard work to help keep Virginia Beach a Clean Community.
